Lost Dogs

 

This is Cash. Harvey and I found him wandering an alley near our house. It was a difficult rescue, as my reactive dog wasn't sure about the other dog. I tied Harvey to a fence and tempted this stray to me with some treats. He came to me and I was able to grab his collar. I walked him over to Harvey and we had a slow introduction, and things went well. I tied the handle of Harvey's leash to this dogs collar and we walked home. 

We got home and I put the dog onto the deck and Harvey went inside for dinner. The dog was chill and well looked after. Not being on social media I reached out to some friends for help. They took to Facebook and started looking for the owner. 

Meanwhile, Harvey had finished his dinner and wanted to back out front. I brought the stray into the house and Harvb went out. The dog fell asleep on the carpet exhausted. I ordered pizza for diunner and when it arrived, the three of us sat on the livingroom floor and had a pizza party. They both got peices of crust and we so good together. 

Bedtime came and Harvey came in the house as normal. I went to bed thinking the dogs would find where they wanted to be and the next thing I knew they were both on my bed. They settled quickly and we all went to sleep. 

The next morning we all went for a walk and I started to get texts from my friends. They found the owner and he lived a few blocks from me. We all walked to the house and when the dog saw his owner he went nuts!! He sprinted to the house and jumped on his person. His name was Cash and the owner was suffering from throat cancer. He was up all night worried sick - but we got him back. 

Harvey seemed sad to have his friend leave, and when we would walk past the house he would always get more alert and look for Cash! I hope they are both doing well.
